Iwo is a very beautiful place to reside, in fact, Iwoland can be recommended to anyone who wants a quiet, peaceful and cultured place of retirement. Iwo has the best means of livelihood and is surrounded by towns that are as well peaceful. This does not eradicate danger from the face of Iwo, there are violent experiences in Iwo but this happens only once in a blue moon.
Perhaps you’ve been thinking of migrating to Iwo and you’ve been sceptical about the cost of living in this beautiful land. Iwo is very accommodating and you would always get the best from the well-cultured people of the land. Businesses are doing well and the people are very industrious, competent, empathetic, and courageous in welcoming new members into the commercial atmosphere.
Let’s talk about the cost of living in Iwo.
COST OF HOUSING:
An average standard one-room face-to-face apartment will cost you between a thousand naira (N1,000) to one thousand five hundred naira only (N1,500) per month. While a sub-standard of the same style will cost you between six hundred Naira (N600) to nine hundred Naira (N900) per month depending on the age, the area and the availability of basic amenities in the building. This runs to a cost of between twelve thousand Naira (N12,000.00) to fifteen thousand Naira (N15,0000.00) per annum without the agent’s fee for a standard home and seven thousand two hundred Naira (N7,200.00) to ten thousand eight hundred Naira (N10,8000.00) per year for a sub-standard home.
If you’re looking for a self-contained apartment, this will cost between fifty thousand Naira (N50,000.00) to sixty-five thousand Naira (N65,000.00) a year. This style of home is very expensive because of its scarcity but with time, I project thirty thousand naira (N30,000.00) to forty thousand Naira (N40,000.00) a year.

Multiple bedrooms bungalow apartments cost around eighty thousand Naira (N80,000.00) to a hundred and fifty thousand Naira (N150,000.00) per annum depending on the number of rooms, the age of the house, the surrounding, and the availability of basic social amenities in the building.
If you’re willing to purchase a building in Iwo kingdom, then you should be prepared for about a million naira (N1,000,000.00) for an old four rooms face-to-face building and about four million Naira (N4,000,000.00) for some well designed modern buildings. The cost varies from seller to seller but trust me there is no cut-throat price in Iwo.
The beautiful thing about getting a home in Iwo empire is that you don’t always need an agent if you can do the searching yourself and trust me by the time you’d walk into three places in Iwo someone would have told you a place where you can get a house for rent.
COST OF FOODSTUFFS:
Foods are not costly in Iwo land and the majority of the things you’ll need to make good food stock are very cheap. Except for things are almost the same price in any part of the country the rest of the things are cheap or let me say very affordable. Iwo kingdom produces almost all of the consumptions, from palm oil, Garri, pepper, locust beans, yam, potatoes, Okro, vegetables, meat, fish and etcetera, you name it and you’ll find them in abundant and very well affordable.
All the listed above don’t cost too much and if you have a thousand naira only (N1,000.00), you’ll cook a plenty rich stew that’ll last you three good whole days. It is that beautiful in this empire.

COST OF TRANSPORTATION:
Transportation is quite very low so much that if you need to travel about ten kilometres journey with a means of a commercial motorcycle you’ll spend just about one hundred and fifty Naira (N150.00) to two hundred Naira only (N200.00). This same journey could cost you just as low as a hundred naira only (N100.00) to a hundred and twenty Naira only (N120.00) using the commercial minibuses.
Means of transportation is that very low but sometimes can be hiked up if the riders or drivers found out you’re new to the kingdom and it seems this is common to every place I’ve ever been.
SOCIAL AND RECREATIONAL PLACES:
Iwo people are not very social but they’re not antisocial. They sit on the fence and enjoy how it goes. There are various spots you can get yourself warmed up or cooled down in Iwo and you don’t have to get to the bottom of your pocket to enjoy yourself. There are various luxurious hotels, bar houses, restaurants and guests homes in Iwo that won’t siphon your money from you.
If you are the type that wants to be very social, you’ll always find a place that fits you in any of these places without strangling your bank account to death. This is not a solicitation or advice because if you go in there and continue to pile up bills, you might end up to find yourself in a big mess.
The cost of Champaign, Rosie, Hennessey and other expensive drinks doesn’t change when you go for them though they’re quite unavailable in these places and if you get to order them, they’d be very little available.

SCHOOLS (CREECH, KINDERGARTEN, NURSERY, PRIMARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOLS):
Maybe you’re a family person with children, don’t worry about school fees. School fees are as well very low for private schools and almost absolutely free for public schools. Private standard schools that will stand the standard of any private standard school in any part of the country will cost around fifty thousand Naira (N50,000.00) to eighty thousand Naira (N80,000.00) per term.
However, a well organized not high standard will cost you around twenty-five thousand Naira only (N25,000.00) to thirty-seven thousand Naira only (N37,000.00). Also, if you want a lesser which is adequately standard you’ll get that for between ten thousand Naira only (N10,000.00) to fifteen thousand Naira only (N15,000.00). These costs are for secondary school students.
For primary and kindergarten children, the highest you can get is around thirty thousand Naira only (N30,000.00) and the lowest you can get is two thousand Naira only (N2000.00) depending on the standard of the school.

HOSPITALS, CLINICS AND MATERNITIES:
There are various available private and public hospitals at your service. However, I would be frank with you, there is no real heavily standard hospital in Iwo kingdom but you’ll get hospitals that will get you out of trouble when your wife or wives want to put to bed or a minor injury or road accident occurs.
If someone gets very seriously injured or sick, you’re verily likely to be referred to Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Teaching Hospital in Osogbo or the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan.
Another major trouble is that the major private hospitals are always very overwhelmed because the majority of the neighbouring towns and hamlets use private hospitals. The chance to get good health attention for a terribly injured person or sick person is lame in Iwo. We would welcome health investors.
SHOPPING MALL AND SUPERMARKET:
There is no big shopping mall in Iwo but we have various small and large supermarkets at various places and destinations in Iwo. You’ll be able to get almost anything you want or need but you might need to visit more than a single supermarket to get all you need. Regardless, you will get everything you need.
