The Federal Ministry of Education has finally settled the score that the only approved location for the new Federal College of Education in Osun State is Iwo Local Government.
Few hours after the people of Iwo Federal Constituency received the news that they got the approval to get Federal College of Education, some people did not receive the news well. In the course of jubilation and celebration of the success, a social media from Ila Orangun photoshopped the approval letter got by Iwo Local government.
The miscreant caused roar on social media by posting a fake approval letter of the same Federal College of Education to Ila Orangan. This mutilation led the youths of Ila to hold protest to the house of Chief Bisi Akande. They were unhappy that Iwo Local Government got the federal institution.

Barely few hours, the Federal Ministry of Education clears the air, the ministry said only Iwo Local Government is the location in Osun State to welcome one of the six Federal Colleges of Education approved by President Muhammad Buhari.
In a statement signed by Ben Bem Goong, the Director Press & PR Federal Ministry of Education on the 18th May 2020. The press release reads;
“The attention of the Federal Ministry of Education has been drawn to the mutilation of official correspondence between the Federal Ministry of Education and the Government of Osun state over the location of the newly approved Federal College of Education in the state, which has been widely circulated in the social and conventional media.”

“The Federal Ministry of Education, therefore, wishes to clarify the locations of the Colleges as follows:-
- BAUCHI: JAMA’ARE IN JAMA’ARE LOCAL GOVERNMENT
- BENUE: ODUGBO IN APA LOCAL GOVERNMENT
- EBONYI: ISU IN ONICHA LOCAL GOVERNMENT
- EDO: EKIADOLOR IN OVIA NORTH EAST LOCAL GOVERNMENT
- OSUN: IWO IN IWO LOCAL GOVERNMENT
- SOKOTO: GIDAN MADI IN TANGAZA LOCAL GOVERNMENT”
“Letters to this effect have already gone to the relevant Governors, while a Technical Team from the Federal Ministry of Education (FME) and the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) will be visiting the benefitting states to inspect and assess the sites in the coming weeks, all in preparation for the take-off of the Colleges in October 2020.” He concluded.

With this official statement from the Federal Ministry of Education, the case is finally settled that the home of the new Federal College of Education in Osun State is Iwo Local Government.
Many people, associations, unions and others the presence of Federal College of Education will bring development to Iwoland and the entire state in general.
