It is yet another win for Iwoland as Alhaji Alidu Shutti gets appointed as the acting secretary of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON). The appointment comes after the voluntary retirement of Dr. Abdullahi Rabi’u Kontagora on December 6, 2024.
Alhaji Alidu Shutti, of Lọọlọ’s compound is a seasoned administrator with a deep understanding of Hajj operations and has been serving the Commission in various capacities since 2007.

His wealth of experience and expertise make him an ideal candidate for this position. He has been Director Inspectorate and Compliance since 2023, and has held various positions, including Head of Tour Operators Division and Deputy Coordinator of Makkah Office.
A surviving son to the late Alhaji Baneeyamin Adeyemi Shutti, Alhaji Alidu Shutti will hold the Acting Secretary position pending the appointment of a substantive Secretary to the Commission.
With his academic qualifications, including a Master’s degree in Public Administration, a Bachelor’s degree in Islamic Studies, and a Diploma in Journalism, he is well-equipped to handle the demands of this position.
