In a significant moment for Ogbomosho and Yoruba tradition, Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba AbdulRosheed Adewale Akanbi, has extended his warm congratulations to Oba Afolabi Ghandi Olaoye on his recent appointment as the Soun of Ogbomosho.
Oluwo sees this appointment as a divine blessing for the pure and unadulterated Yoruba monarchy, urging his contenders to cooperate with the Godly chosen to move Ogbomosho forward.

Oba Adewale Akanbi expressed his heartfelt felicitations and congratulations to the new Soun, emphasizing the belief that this appointment will contribute to the preservation and promotion of the Yoruba monarchy as envisioned by our forefather, Oduduwa.
In a statement released by Oluwo through his press secretary, Alli Ibraheem, he stated;
“I felicitate and congratulate the new Soun of Ogbomosho, His Royal Majesty, Oba Afolabi Ghandi Olaoye, on his ascension to the throne of his forefathers. I have a strong hope that his enthronement will be a blessing to the pure, unadulterated Yoruba monarchy and institution as enshrined by our founding father, Oduduwa.”

Oluwo further urged all contenders to respect and acknowledge the divine will of Olodumare (God) in this appointment, emphasizing the importance of unity and cooperation in propelling Ogbomosholand forward. Oluwo also took a moment to commend Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and the kingmakers for their wisdom in making this historic choice.
