The Oluwo of Iwoland, Ọba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Olubadan, HIM Oba Lekan Balogun Ali (Okunmade II), describing it as a significant loss to the traditional institution, especially in Yorubaland.
In a condolence message released through his press secretary, Alli Ibraheem, Oba Akanbi commiserated with the Balogun Ali-Iwo family of Ibadan and the entire Ibadanland community.

Oluwo said: “The death of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, HIM Oba Lekan Balogun Ali, Okunmade II was a monumental loss to the traditional institution most especially in Yorubaland. He was an asset who served Ibadanland and Nigeria meritoriously.”
“I commiserate with the Ali Balogun family of Ibadan and Iwo. He was a pride and positive symbol who represented the family and Ibadanland diligently. We are missing you already”
“I pray God will forgive your shortcomings and grant you Aljana Firdaus. Once again, my condolences to Ibadanland.”
He praised Oba Lekan Balogun Ali’s exemplary service to Ibadanland and Nigeria.
