Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba AbdulRasheed Adewale Akanbi, has described the action a policeman who brutalised Tola Azeez as barbaric display and unacceptable.
Tola Azeez, a woman was flogged, dragged and brutalized by a Policeman popularly known as “Sergeant Iku Esan” and his gang in Iwo Police Division.
Tola Azeez was flogged by policemen in Iwo for allegedly violating the coronavirus lockdown in Osun State.

While reacting to the viral video on Twitter, Tola Azeez said the incident happened on her way to get drugs and relief materials for her people.
Oba Akanbi also assured the people of Iwo that investigation is going on and justice shall prevail. Therefore, Kabiesi urges everybody to be peaceful as the matter will be handled maturely.
The statement of Oluwo of Iwoland reads as thus;
“The police are investigating and will take disciplinary measure. The act and action of the police against an Iwo woman, Tola Azeez, is condemned. It is unacceptable and also a barbaric display. Iwo is civilized beyond such incivility.”
“The palace has time immemorial device necessary machineries to ensure the community and the police co-habit peacefully for effective security.”
“I’ve intervened, the police have gone to her place with the DPO of the affected division to tender their apology formally.”
“I urge the citizen to be peaceful and let the matter be handled maturely according to the law in the best interest of the town.” he concluded.
