In a bid to alleviate economic hardship and uplift the lives of residents in Iwo, Ayedire and Olaoluwa local governments, the Special Adviser to the Osun State Governor on Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA), Alh (Hon) Mudashiru Nurudeen Emiloju, recently launched a multi-million naira empowerment program.

The program, aimed at complementing Governor Ademola Adeleke’s initiatives in enhancing livelihoods, saw over 200 beneficiaries receive support in the form of motorcycles, refrigerators, grinding machines and cash grants for business endeavours. The cash grants ranged from N250,000 to N50,000, empowering individuals to either kickstart new ventures or expand existing ones.

According to Sen Ola Ariyo, the Personal Assistant to Hon. Emiloju, the program extends a helping hand to those facing economic uncertainties, especially women and market traders. Additionally, food items were distributed to thousands, further aiding communities during challenging times.

Hon. Emiloju emphasised his commitment to contributing to the well-being of the people within his capacity, urging beneficiaries to utilize the support effectively. He also urged continued support for Governor Adeleke’s administration, highlighting ongoing infrastructural projects like the Iwo-Osogbo road.

Acknowledging the support and guidance received, Hon. Emiloju expressed gratitude to Yeyeluwa Modupeola Adeleke-Sanni for her constant encouragement and motherly love.

Governor Ademola Adeleke, represented by Hon Bayo Ogungbangbe, Commissioner for Cooperatives and Empowerment, praised the empowerment initiative as emblematic of the state government’s welfare programs.

He announced the imminent disbursement of cooperative loans, reinforcing the government’s commitment to economic empowerment.

The event, graced by dignitaries including government officials, party leaders, and traditional rulers, showcased a unified effort towards community development and upliftment. Barr Kamorudeen Ajisafe “Kosolowoe” commended the generosity of the program, highlighting the impact of giving back to society.
