Miss Iwoland Organizer Appreciates Oluwo, Asiwaju-Odo, Gbobaniyi, Kamilu Kompo, Oriolowo, Others For Third Edition's Success

The coordinator, Office of Miss Iwoland Programme, Mr. Mike Halim popularly known as MC Olumiko has revealed that the Miss Iwoland 2020 edition has been postponed. In a memo released, Mike Halim said this year’s event which could have made the 4th edition of Miss Iwoland has been postponed for precautionary measures. Also, he said the priority of the committee is health and safety of contestants, participants and all Iwo people at large.

Miss Iwoland Event is annual event that features pageantry, fashion, music and comedy is opened for beautiful, Intelligent and cultured ladies from Iwo, Ayedire Ola-Oluwa. Mike Halim said the Miss Iwoland crew is keeping a close eye on the developing situation surrounding the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19). The crew said the number one goal is the safety and well-being of residents, visitors and communities throughout Iwoland.

The 2019 edition was graced by Prof Jelili Oguntola Alamu; the Asiwaju-odo of Iwoland, the CEO. of J Light as well as the Chief Gbobaniyi of Iwoland, Dr. Mrs Yussuf, Hon. Mrs. Oriolowo, the Royal College of Health, Iwo Board Chairman and members, the CEO f Osas Fashion; Sheriff. The Popular Yoruba Movie Actor, Kamilu Kompo (Adekola Tijani) was awarded Best Indigenous Actor of the year.

Mike Halim said: “In lieu of the serious effects of COVID-19, in adequate time, logistics constraints and despite willingness to showcase beauties and brains again, we here by postpone MISS IWOLAND PAGEANT SHOW till 2nd day of Ileya 2021 to prioritise the health, safety and satisfaction of all.”

“This decision is precautionary and strategic to avoid taking unnecessary risk. Also, to enable us produce a bigger and better show with intending pageants, performers, sponsors and partners as well as the ever responsible palace of Oluwo of Iwoland which has remained a fortress of undying support since the programme started in 2017 to promote beauty and wit, culture and advocacy.”

Mike Halim continued: “The new date is considered aide preparation and wide participation, while a round-off compulsory impact-seeking pet project shall be executed with the support current (ruby edition 2020) office holders before the set date.”
