Popular social media activist and anti-corruption campaigner, VeryDarkMan (VDM), has announced that he will be visiting Iwo, Osun State, on Wednesday, 15th of July 2026, following an official invitation from the Oluwo of Iwoland, His Imperial Majesty Oba AbdulRosheed Adéwálé Akanbi, Telu I.
A few minutes ago, Mr. Martins Vincent Otse populay known as ‘VeryDarkMan’ made the announcement on his official Instagram account, where he also shared a copy of the invitation letter sent to him by the Oluwo’s palace, confirming the planned visit to the ancient city of Iwo.

According to VeryDarkMan, the invitation followed a video conversation lasting over two hours with the revered monarch, during which they discussed Nigeria’s progress, transparency, accountability and the fight against corruption.
In the invitation letter posted, Oluwo commended VeryDarkMan’s anti-corruption advocacy through the RATEL Movement, describing his efforts as deserving of royal recognition.
Reacting to the invitation, VeryDarkMan disclosed that the visit would mark his first-ever trip to Osun State. He called on members of the RATEL Movement to prepare for the visit, declaring, “The RATEL is coming.”
The announcement has already sparked conversations across social media and discussing its possible significance for Iwoland, Osun State and the broader conversation on good governance and civic engagement.
VeryDarkMan remains one of Nigeria’s most influential yet controversial activists. While many praise him for speaking boldly against corruption, abuse of power and social injustice, others have criticised his style of activism and approach to public issues.
