Looting and Vandalising Iwo Local Government Council, Oriolowo Farm is a Criminal Action - Hon. Rasaq Salinsile
The Secretary of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Osun State, Hon Rasaq Salinsile, has condemned the recent actions of hoodlums who looted and vandalised properties at Iwo Local Government Secretariat and Oriolowo Farm.

The APC chieftain said properties worth millions of naira were destroyed and described such actions as criminal actions.

In a statement released on his social media account, Hon Rasaq Salinsile sympathised with those who have lost their lives and property. He also urged youths in Iwoland who are yearning for good governance not to support such action.

“I am sad and shock seeing the quantum of destruction perpetrated by hoodlums who looted and vandalised Iwo Local Government, Iwo East Local Council Development Area, Senator Adelere Oriolowo’s farms and other places in Iwo. I visited the ancient town to see things myself and to know the extent of damage on both public and private property aftermath of the #Endsars protest.”

“The protest which was initially peaceful until it became free-for-all where property worth millions of naira were destroyed.”

“These criminal actions and sheer evil as we have so far witnessed can impart negatively on Iwo sons and daughters planning to invest in the town. Honestly, I am disturbed about the unwarranted development, especially as it is expected of us to epitomise Omoluabi ethos.”

He continued: “Of what gain is vandalising and looting public assets and private businesses that provide employment for our own people? Some of whom through this arson have lost their livelihood.”

“This is one incident too many looking at the wanton destruction at the site visited. This must be condemned by people of good conscience and should not be supported either by reasonable members of our community, particularly our youths whose voice for good governance has been heard.”

“I sympathise with those who have lost their lives and property. May Allah grant them inner peace to withstand this challenging time.” Hon Salinsile concluded.
