Hon. Seebee Gives Another Round of Skill Acquisition & Empowerment for Youths in Iwo Local Government

The former chairman of Iwo local government, Hon. Sulaiman Akanji Bello politically known as SEEBEE has announced his readiness to sponsor at least one youth across the fifteen ward quarters of Iwo local government in artisan trades adding that the whole essence is not to give our people fish but to teach them how to fish.

The scheme is aimed at helping young men and women to cultivate their potentials and that beneficiaries will be drawn from the 15 wards that made up Iwo. Each ward will have one beneficiary for the scheme.

Beneficiaries will be attached to an individual trainer to learn hairdressing, fashion designing and barbing skills. Trainers would be paid the required fees for their services.

He said the scheme will also see beneficiaries of the training get equipment and other necessary supports during and after the training to help contribute meaningfully to society.

According to him, the poverty index in society today is worrisome. Hon. Sulaiman Akanji Bello the poverty index appears to be increasing on a daily basis while the middle class is gradually being more financially weakened noting that the biggest project to combating the high rate of poverty is to empower people, especially, the youths and women in the society.

The PDP chieftain appealed to the coordinators of the programme to take the opportunity to their various wards and be open and fair in selecting the youths who are in dire need of the scheme.

Beneficiaries are expected to commence the training by March 1, 2020, after which another batch will resume.
