Hon Amobi Yinusa: What He Promised, What Has He Delivered to Iwo Federal Constituency in 2019?

Amobi Yinusa under the All Progressives Congress (APC) platform won the 23rd February 2019 to represent Iwo, Ayedire and Olaoluwa at the National Assembly.

Rufus Adedoyin from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife as the Returning Officer declared Honourable Amobi Yinusa as the winner of the House of Representative having polled the highest number votes. Amobi Yinusa polled 29,229, Mudasir Lukman (L&K) under the PDP platform polled 21,608 while Adiat Olaposi of the ADP came third with 17,624 votes.

Honourable Amobi Yinusa

Honourable Amobi Yinusa hails from Olode Compound in Kuta, Ayedire Local Government of Osun State. He bagged a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the Federal University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State in 2005. Also, Hon. Amobi studied at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Ogbomosho, Oyo State, where he obtained a Master’s Degree in Public Administration in the year 2014. Hon Amobi was the First Democratic Executive Chairman of Ayedire Local Government in the 4th Republic, 1999-2002.

Before being elected, Hon Amobi Yinusa promised a real and positive change to Iwo Federal Constituency. He promised his representation will be honest and open to his people. In addition, the lawmaker outlined ways to deal with unemployment, agriculture, security issues, revitalising social services, education and health.

For a better representation, Hon Amobi Yinusa promised he will be doing the following;

  • Publish data on the governance of Ayedire/Iwo/Olaoluwa Federal Constituency when requested.
  • Bring for discussion among “AYIWOLA” communities any bill that directly affects the communities.
  • Hold regular town hall meetings with my constituents where they will determine what the relevant and immediate issues are.
  • Keep an open-door policy that will encourage constituents to direct their problems to me.
  • Open information channels on real-time social network forums such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc.

Yes, the lawmaker has been doing, one of the major discussions was the establishment of the Federal College of Education in Iwo. Though it has been an online discussion.

Holding of regular town hall meetings with people of his constituency where they will determine what the relevant and immediate issues are.

So far, no town hall meetings have been held with the constituents though he has been keeping them informed. However, we hope a Town Hall Meeting will hold in 2020.

Open information channels on real-time social network forums such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc.

Yes, he has been keeping the people of his constituency updated on social media especially his Facebook account. We hope other social platforms will be used to engage his people.
