Don’t Incite Religious Crisis, Oluwo is a King for all – Wazeer of Yorubaland Warns Idol Worshippers

The Wazeer of Yorubaland, Sheikh Yaqub Abdul-baaqi Muhammad, has warned the idol worshippers not to incite religious crisis in Iwoland as Oluwo of Iwoland is a king for all irrespective of religious background.

Sheikh Yaqub Abdul-baaqi Muhammad said the Nigeria Constitution has given every individual the freedom to practice any religion of your choice. Therefore, the idols worshippers should learn to tolerate every individual’s choice irrespective of status.

The Islamic cleric further said, Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Adewale Akanbi was not only born as a Muslim but also a practicing Muslim monarch. He said Oluwo is only calling for corrections of some barbaric Yoruba ideologies and separation of Religion from the Culture.

He said: “This is how the religious crisis starts which we do not pray for in Iwoland. It is indeed a comical act and whimsically amusing seeing some idol worshipers bragging of entering immensely into the edifice of Oluwo of Iwoland, and their ludicrous reason was that Oluwo is not promoting idolism.”

“Oluwo is a king for all either you are a Muslim or non-Muslim. According to Nigerian Constitution, there is freedom of religion for everyone whether you are a king or not. Oluwo was born a Muslim and he studied Islam, he found out it’s the only religion of monotheism and chose to be one.”

“Oluwo according to all intellectual people is only calling for corrections of some barbaric Yoruba ideologies and separation of Religion from the Culture. This should not be a problem in as much as he doesn’t stop anyone from worshipping what he believes in.”

The Wazeer of Yorubaland also pointed out that the disagreement with Oluwo on the celebration of Odun Eledunmare does not mean he has turned his back on Oba Adewale Akanbi. He said the good people of Iwoland will not allow anybody to disrupt the peace of the land.

Sheikh Yaqub Abdul-baaqi Muhammad said: “What happened between us and Oluwo during his celebration of Odun Olohun should not be a reason to judge we have turned our back on him and use it as a chance if you try such you will regret it because all his lovers who believed in his mission will not stand aside watching you with your treacherous act in the town.”
