Dr. Omotayo Muthalib Akanmu was born six decades ago in the Iwo Local Government Area of Osun State. Dr. Omotayo attended Baptist College, Iwo between 1975 to 1978.
He furthered his studies at the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile – Ife) for his first degree between 1981-1985, 1987-1990, 1996-2004 for second and third degrees, where he studied Geography Education and Educational Technology at Msc and Ph.D respectively.
He joined the service of Osun State College Of Education, Ilesa in June 1990 where he started his lecturing career from assistant lecturer till he rose to chief lecturer in October 2005. From chief lecturer till today before he was appointed and announced as Acting Provost of the College.

In March 2018, Dr. Omotayo Muthalib Akanmu was appointed as the Deputy Provost of Osun State College Of Education, Ilesa before his appointment as the Acting Provost in November 2021.
He was head as HOD, Dean of Faculty, Director, Chairman of Different Boards and Deputy Provost of the College. He has published many textbooks, journals and papers presented in different seminars and conferences.
Dr. Omotayo Muthalib Akanmu is Happily Married with lovely and adorable children.

On November 22, 2021 Dr. Omotayo Muthalib Akanmu was appointed as Acting Provost of Osun State College Of Education, Ilesa. We wish him a successful administration and as well a big Congratulation to Iwoland.
