The Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba (Dr.) Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi has mourned the demise of the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji describes him as a valuable asset not only to the people of Ibadan but also to the entire Yoruba race.
His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi also described the news of the transition of Oba Saliu Akanmu with rude shock and as well it is a monumental loss to the traditional institution in Yorubaland.
Oluwo also condoled with the monarch’s immediate family and prayed that God will give them the fortitude to bear the loss.

The statement issued and signed by the Chief Press Secretary to Oluwo, Alli Ibraheem, said that:
“Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji was, undoubtedly, committed to the progress and peace of Ibadan land.”
“The death of Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji, was a monumental loss to the traditional institution in Yorubaland and Nigeria by extension. He was an asset.
I mourn his demise while I commiserate with his immediate family and the entire Ibadanland.”
“Kings are symbols and images of their respective towns. Such a vacuum is too weighty to bear. May God console his family, the entire Ibadan land and forgive his shortcomings.”
