Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi, Telu 1, has charged Yoruba Muslims and Islamic scholars to join active politics and run for political offices.
Oba Adewale made this known on Tuesday December 28, 2021 during his visit at the ongoing Taawun National Conference in Iwo.

Oluwo who was accompanied by Sheriki Musulumi of Iwoland, Alhaji Moshood Okunola, then asked if living in abject poverty or as valueless Muslims is part of Islam or the nature of Muslims. He further inquired to know if having Islamic cleric in a position of authority is a taboo.
He finally charged Muslims to fight ignorance with education, and encouraged them to work towards Islamic development in Yorubaland.
