Oluwo Inaugurates 21-Member Iwo Board of Trustees (IBOT)

The Paramount Ruler of Iwoland, HIM Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, has inaugurated the 21-member Iwo Board of Trustees (IBOT).

Iwo Board of Trustees (IBOT), in collaboration with the Oluwo, is the apex decision-making body in Iwo. The inaugurated IBOT is the 3rd in history. The inauguration which took place at Oluwo’s palace square Sunday; July 24, 2022 was attended by prominent sons and daughters of Iwoland.

The new IBOT members were drawn from professionals cutting across all walks of life.
Addressing the new members, Oluwo called for a digital approach to community service in tandem with his traditional perspective.

He tasked the committee members to exercise core values such as accountability, honesty, integrity and patriotism to pilot Iwo to the promised land. Oba Akanbi said serving Iwo is synonymous with serving oneself.

The monarch said: “When I was enthroned, I made many fundamental decisions – won’t worship a deity, won’t sell my subjects’ lands and I won’t use Iwo money to invest outside. These principles to the best of my ability, have not been betrayed. Iwo is matching forward but we can still move faster. The desire for a jet speed acceleration produced the intellectuals we inaugurated today as Executives and members of the 3rd Iwo Board of Trustees.”

“I appeal for a digital approach to community service. Emergency matters demand urgent solutions. If there be any case of emergency attention, please endeavor to suspend protocol.”

Oluwo continued: “As a responsible father, I don’t think of what Iwo can do for me but what I can do for Iwo. Today, we are making another history we shall be proud of in no distance time by committing the affairs of Iwo in the hands of trusted, accountable, reliable, dependable and integrity-proven individuals.

“IBOT is the highest and most respected platform to serve Iwo and her people. Honesty is the watchword. There is no personal gain in IBOT. And I have the hope and assurance in the personalities of those we inaugurated today”.

Oba Adewale added: “In addition, I charge everyone to dedicate themselves to this service and borrow a leaf from my style. I don’t take anything from IBOT. I maintain the palace, vehicles and some boundary litigations without requesting from IBOT.”

“The platform is not meant for personal gain but, there is a way God rewards accordingly. I organize this inauguration without kobo from the purse of IBOT. I’m eager and desirous of a new Iwo. This, to me, with your complement, is an assurance that Iwo is closer to the promised land. Let’s join hands to protect Iwo interest, her border, and future.”

“I appeal for a collaborative effort at promoting Iwo social, economic, educational, cultural and, even political strength. Be rest assured of my utmost support. I’m a listening King keen on the development and growth of my land and people. I have been doing it, to move faster at jet speed, your input and encouragement are fundamental. Service to one’s town is service to oneself.” Oluwo concluded.

Some of the newly inaugurated members are Prof. Lai Olurode, Otunba Jire Ayinla, Barr. Ismaila Toyin Kudaisi, Alhaji Liad Tella, Olori Iyabode Lamuye, Justice Dejo Akanbi, Prince Tayo Hassan, Dr. Olayinka Laosebikan, Prof. Muibat Bello, Dr. Akanmu Omotayo Mutalib, Chief Muniru Adisa, Dr.(Mrs.) Taiwo Adeagbo, Engr. Ayoade Lawal, Dr. Taofeeq Abdul Hameed, and Mr. Adisa Kabiru Kulukulu.

Others are: Chief A. B Oyetunde, Alhaja Aminu Mojirade, Alhaja Olabisi Aremu Orilende, Alhaji Nurudeen Emiloju, Barr. Yemi Abolusodun.
