His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adewale Akanbi Adewale Akanbi, has revealed that the maiden of God Festival (Odun Olodumare) will be an annual event and has come to say.
Oba AbdulRasheed Adewale Akanbi celebrated the first edition of the God Festival (Odun Olodumare) on November 9, 2021. Oba Adewale Akanbi said the event was a moment of praising, celebration and worshiping of God’s exceptionality.
Though many talks trailed the Odun Olodumare, as the Wazeer of Yorubaland, Sheikh Muhammad Yahqub, said there are only two recognized festivals in Islam, anything aside that is not permissible in the religion.

Before the event, the Wazeer of Yorubaland came out publicly to urge Oluwo to reconsider his stance on the celebration of planned Odun Olohun. The Islam cleric said as a Muslim, such a festival is an innovation that is not permissible in Islam.
However, Oluwo proceeded with the event as different religious leaders and personalities graced the event. The event which took place at the Oluwo palace square was colorful as the popular musician Mega99 graced the occasion to make it lively.

In a statement released by Oluwo of Iwoland:
Oba Adewale said: “It was a moment of praising, celebration and worshiping of God’s exceptionality at the maiden of God Festival (Odun Olodumare) held at my palace yesterday. I reference The Creator (Olodumare) for the privilege to gather, praise, celebrate and honour HIS name without any hindrance. I say thank you God.”
“And to those who attended, you are appreciated. For giving God His only request, you shall be rewarded. I extend my appreciation to those who are unavoidably absent. I must state, by the special grace of God, the annual event has come to stay. Once again, thank you all.” Oluwo concluded.
