April 8, 2021 was a celebration day in Iwo land as 5 prominent sons get federal government appointments. It was could be described as a celebration galore for the sons and daughters of Iwo land as president Muhammad Buhari approved the appointment of principal officers and members of the Governing Councils for the newly established College of Education, Iwo, Osun State.
According to a statement signed by the Director Press and Public Relations on Thursday, Ben Bem Goong, in Abuja said the Chairmen and members of the Council of the affected institutions shall be inaugurated by the Minister of Education Malam Adamu Adamu at a date to be announced in due course.
As announced by Ben Bem Goong, Alhaji Liad Tella who is an Iwo-born and also a former Executive Secretary of National Hajj Commission (NAHCOM) will be the chairman of the governing board of the Federal College of Education, Iwo. Also, Dr. Bayo Lasisi, another Iwo son will be the Pioneer Bursar Federal College of Education, Iwo.

Aside from the two Iwo sons appointed as part of the principal officers at the Federal College of Education, Iwo, and the other three Iwo sons got appointments as principal officers into various universities and polytechnics.
The list goes thus;
1- Alhaji Liad Tella
Alh. Liad Tella has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Governing Board, Federal College of Education, Iwo, Osun State.
Alhaji Liad Tella is a retired senior research fellow in the Department of Mass Communication, University of Ilorin. Also, he is a former federal commissioner at the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON). He is also the Asiwaju Musulumi of Iwo.
One of the peculiarities of Alhaji Liad Tella is that he is a pioneer and pathfinder of a rare breed in Iwo. Alhaji Liad Tella, a veteran journalist, who was the Deputy Editor of Concord newspaper at that time also doubled as the Chairman of the Osun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board.

2- Dr Fatai Adebayo Lasisi, FCA
Dr. Bayo Lasisi has been appointed as the Bursar of the Federal College of Education, Iwo, Osun State.
Dr Fatai Adebayo Lasisi graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Public Administration with a Second Class Upper Degree in1986 from the University of Ilorin. He was the best student in his class during the 1985/1986 session. He had his Masters of Business Administration (MBA), Masters of Science (Msc) in Business Administration in 2010 and 2012 respectively and Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration in 2017 from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria respectively.
Dr. Fatai Adebayo LASISI, FCA the pioneer Bursar of Summit University, Offa, born on 3rd March, 1962. Prior to his appointment, he was the Bursar, Osun State College of Technology, Esa Oke and also served as Pioneer Bursar, Osun State University, Osogbo.
Dr. Fatai Adebayo LASISI is one of the most successful Chartered Accountants from Iwo land.

3- Dr. Taofeek Adekunle Abdul-Hameed, MNSE, FIMC
Dr. Taofeek Adekunle has been appointed as the Rector of Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Ogbomosho, Oyo State.
Dr. Taofeek Adekunle Abdul-Hameed was a former Dean of the School of Engineering Technology and Chief Imam of the Muslim Community, Federal Polytechnic Ede) is now the Rector of Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Oyo State.
Dr. Taofeek Adekunle Abdul-Hameed has the following educational qualification; Ph.D (Technology Management); M.Eng (Electrical Engineering); M.Sc (Technology Management); M.Sc (Industrial & Production Engineering).
Engr. Dr. Taofeek Adekunle ABDUL-HAMEED was born in Ede, Osun State, on the 11th day of November, 1965. He hailed from Iwo in Iwo Local Government Area of Osun State. He had a B.Eng. Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Ilorin in 1991.

4- Hon Alao Olabisi Kamoru
Hon Alao Olabisi Kamoru is appointed as a member of the Governing Council of Federal Polytechnic, Offa, Kwara State.
Hon Alao Olabisi Kamoru graduated with B.Sc in Political Science from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife Osun State (1988 – 1991).
He was the former Executive Secretary (Chairman), Iwo Local Government, Hon. Alao Olabisi Kamoru has been appointed as a Member of the Governing Council of the Federal Polytechnic Offa, Kwara State.

5. Alh Kola Uzamat
Alhaji Kola Uzamat has been appointed as a member of Governing Council of the University of Portharcourt.
Alh Kola Uzamat is JOMAF Coordinator, Joint Muslims Action Forum, which is an umbrella body for all Islamic groups in the state.
Iwo land is blessed to have gotten her sons appointed into various institutions as principal officers.
