Press Release
Iwo Federal Constituency deserve the Approved Federal College of Education for Osun state –RIPM
It is with gladness of heart and joy we received the news of the Federal government approval of establishing new Federal Colleges of Education in six states of the federation which Osun state will also be a beneficiary of among other privileged states.
We commend the Federal government under the able leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari for granting this heartwarming development in the educational sector of the country.
We however wish to state categorically that, Iwo federal constituency should be the deserving place where this FCE needs to be cited in Osun state.

Iwo as a community and as the headquarter of a Senatorial district (Osun-west) has no major government institutions established in the community or the federal constituency at large as against what others have and this is a sour taste that can only be changed if the approved Federal College of Education meant for Osun state is cited in Iwo federal constituency.
We appeal to all concern bodies, specifically, President Muhammadu Buhari, Governor Gboyega Oyetola, Hon Minister for Education, Adamu Adamu, and all other bodies that holds the baton of the approved Federal College of Education to please pass it on to Iwo federal constituency.
We’ve suffered enough, crying, wailing and waiting for federal government presence in our community, we beseech you to kindly wipe away our long years of crying by citing this approved Federal College of Education in Iwoland.
Despite not having considerable government presence in our federal constituency, we’ve continually belong to the progressive family in the political arena of the country and that relationship still stands firm till today. We think this is the perfect time to repay our consistent and unflinching support for the progressive political family since time immemorial.

These are few out of many reasons why Iwo federal constituency should be the location of the newly approved FCE;
1). Osun State comprise of nine (9) Federal Constituencies, three(3) in each of the Senatorial District but eight(8) out of the nine Federal Constituencies have the presence of higher institutions which was either established by the Federal Government or by the state government.
It is only Iwo Federal Constituency that had been shortchanged as regard higher institution in the State and by this approval of the new FCE, we hope it will be cited in Iwo to address this shortcomings.
2). Iwo as our proposed location for the College is an ancient City, an hospitable and an all-inclusive kingdom, the Headquarters of Osun West Senatorial District and the Central Local Government Area of Ayedire/Iwo/Ola-Oluwa Federal Constituency with a huge population of 191,348 people and the most populous Local Government Area in Osun State by 2006 Population Census.
An hospitable community like Iwo will definitely add value and give value to the government institution if cited in the community.

3). Numerous admission seekers in the state especially Ayedire/Iwo/Ola-Oluwa Federal Constituency are yearning for tertiary education without adequate institution in our adjoining environment to cater for this increasing population.
Citing this institution in Iwo will help to address the problem being faced by admission seekers in the state, create jobs for the unemployed and boost the economic activities of Iwo Federal Constituency.
Conclusively, it is glaring to all that Iwo Federal Constituency have been marginalized among all other Federal Constituencies in Osun State in term of Development but we have a deep-seated trust and confidence in President Muhammadu Buhari to right the wrongs of several years by citing this learning institution in Iwo which will definitely erase the pains of several years and give the most populous city in Osun her deserved right like other federal constituencies in the state have enjoyed in the past and still currently enjoying.
We hope reasons will prevail.
Thanks and God bless.
