Sunday, 17th of December, 2023 was all about Iwoland as another Iwo-born scholar placed our dear city on global radar.
In a remarkable display of academic prowess, Dr Abdulhafis Abdulganiy Adisa, hailing from the Oloba compound in Iwo, has elevated his hometown onto the global academic radar.
The distinguished scholar recently captivated audiences at Imam Muhammad bn Su’ud Al-Islaamiyyah University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as he defended his thesis with confidence and a beaming smile.
Dr Adisa’s groundbreaking research work, titled “Jurisprudential Issues in which Disagreement is Based on Another Disagreement and Their Impact on the Jurisprudential Branches of Financial Transactions: Collection and Study,” not only earned him well-deserved accolades but also secured a distinction grade for his doctorate degree in Sharia.

The academic journey of this illustrious Iwo native began at the Islahudeen Arabic School in Iwo, where he laid the foundation for his pursuit of knowledge. He furthered his studies at Igaatha, Ibadan, completing a diploma program before venturing to the Islamic University of Niger and later the Islamic University of Mauritania.
Driven by a passion for learning, he continued his educational pursuit at Malik Su’ud University and concluded at Imam Muhammad bn Su’ud Al-Islaamiyyah University, both prestigious institutions in Saudi Arabia.
Apart from being a scholar of great repute both on the national and international levels, he is a teacher to several scholars and served as secretary at the Trust Charitable Foundation as a result of his high level of integrity and trustworthiness.

On the philanthropic front, Dr Abdulhafis Abdulganiy Adisa is the visionary founder and director of the Albasair Philanthropic and Educational Foundation in Nigeria.
