The Iwo APC youths in Osun state went on protest today, Monday, 5th July, 2021 against the governor of the state, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola over the deteriorating state of party in the state.
The protest by the APC youth in Iwo, the largest local government in Osun which took place in Osogbo, the Osun State capital was as a result of the recent announcement of the caretaker chairmen for the local government and ward Councillors.
The APC Youths in Iwo have described the recent appointment of Caretaker Committees in the area as handing over the administration of local governments in the area to the opposition. The Youths made the accusation today in their protest letter to the Speaker Osun State House of Assembly, Mr Timothy Owoeye.

The positions were believed to have been given to PDP members in APC garments. The youths met the speaker of the house to submit a letter. After which they moved to Abere, the government Secretariat and party chairman’s office.
In the Secretariat, the protesters were singing anti-Oyetola songs, saying his days are numbered in office. The youth said they are party loyalists and they would only be calmed when things are done in the right way.
Speaking through their leader at the House of Assembly complex, Mr Adewale Rabiu, the Youths alleged that the Chairmen appointed for Iwo Local government Mr Adeniyi Isola and Iwo West LCDA and Mr Tajudeen Babatunde Ologburo were all members of the PDP until of recent when they decamped without contributing to the electoral success of the APC in the State.

Mr Rabiu said that their appointments were made possible through the influence of the present Commissioner for Water Resources Dr Amid Tadese who was a PDP Gubernatorial Aspirant during the last general election adding that surprisingly he found himself in the cabinet of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola and which had been using to favour his former Party men in everything.
He therefore advised Governor Oyetola to be careful of those he tagged as moles in the APC administration. That this is important so as not to damage the good his intentions to the people.
Mr Rabiu explained that it would be difficult to record any success in the event of any electoral contest now as the appointees would only work for their former Party.

Responding, Mr Speaker Timothy Owoeye commended the Youths from Iwo for conducting themselves in a peaceful manner. The speaker assured them that their grievances would be looked into with a view to correcting the perceived injustice. The letter was later handed over to him.
Similar protest letters were delivered at Government House and to the Chairman of APC in Osun State, Prince Famodun Adegboyega.
