The 2021 administration of the Federation of Iwoland Students’ Union (FILSU) has impeached three union officers for negligence of duties and other offences. The 2021 leadership of the union has vowed to be accountable and transparent in all its activities.
The officers impeached were; Comrade Ibrahim Jubril (TELU BOY) from FUOYE, (II) Assistant General Secretary, Comrade Agbaje Olamide (Princess) from IREE POLY and (III) Social Director, Comrade Adebowale from LAUTECH.
The parliamentarians accused them of numerous offences, among them are; inability to discharge simple official duties, exhibition of acts inimical to the progress of the Union, misrepresentation of their various offices, etc.

The resolutions to impeach these officers were made from the 5th plenary session held on July 21, 2021 at NULGE Hall, Iwo Local Government Secretariat, Iwo.
Extract from the resolutions, the count charges of the officers which led to their impeachment after much deliberations and debate at the level of the sitting are stated below;
Ibrahim Jubril (TELU BOY) – Financial Secretary
- Negligence of duties as contained in Article III, Section 31, Subsection 1-5 and Article VI, Schedule II (Financial Instructions) of the Union’s Constitution.
- Disregard the resolutions of the hallowed chamber.
- Exhibition of acts inimical to the progress of the Union.
- Inability to discharge simple official duties
- Disregard to the invitation of the Budgetary and Finance Committee, and the Disciplinary and Ethics Committee.

Comrade Agbaje Olamide (Princess) – Assistant General Secretary
- Disregard to the Union’s Constitution
- Exhibition of acts inimical to the progress of the Union.
- Disregard to the resolution of the hallowed chamber
- Misrepresentation of the office of Assistant General Secretary
- Inability to discharge simple official duties
Comrade Adebowale – Social Director
- Disregard to the Union’s Constitution
- Exhibition of acts inimical to the progress of the Union.
- Disregard to the resolution of the hallowed chamber
- Misrepresentation of the office of Social Director
- Inability to discharge simple official duties.
In addition to the resolutions, the impeached officers were mandated to hand over all Union’s properties in their custody to the Chairman of the Properties and Maintenance Committee within 48 hours.
