Bowen @20: Oluwo Pledges Renewed Support, Lauds VC, University Visitors

The Paramount Ruler of Iwoland HIM Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, has commended the management of Bowen University, Iwo for improving the institution’s standard despite emerging challenges confronting academic establishments in recent times.

Oba Akanbi attributed quality academic tempo of Bowen University to competent leadership that aided survival of challenges facing higher education in the country.

Oluwo, while speaking at a special lecture to mark the 20th anniversary of Bowen University, Iwo, today, lauded the foundational promoters for their sacrifice that birthed Baptist College, Iwo in 1979 which later metamorphosed to Bowen University, the biggest and the largest Baptist University in Africa.

Oba Akanbi pledged to renew his support for the university, enjoined the management to effectively utilize his palace at all times.

He tasked the institution to consider aviation studies in their future map as he pledged to donate more land for free on request by the university.

Bowen University, Iwo, was founded by the Baptist Convention on 17th July, 2001.

Oluwo appreciated Baptist for setting up such an ivy league in Iwo. He Canvassed further support from the host communities, saying Bowen is one of the pride of Iwoland.
