The High Court of Justice sitting in Osogbo has stopped the Ameer of Ta’awun, Sheikh Dawood Imran Molaasan, from parading himself as the Grand Mufti of Yorubaland.
In an injustice released on 26th of October, 2021 by the high court of justice in Osogbo; henceforth Sheikh Dawood Imran Molaasan as one of the respondents of the case should not parade himself or claim to be the Grand Mufti of Yorubaland.
The Chief Imam of Ekiti State, Alhaji Jamiu Kewulere, as a claimant approached the court to stop Oba Adewale Akanbi to install any Grand Mufti of Yorubaland.

It could be recalled that Oluwo announced the appointment of Sheikh Imran as the Mufti of Yorubaland on October 5, 2021 and the installing is scheduled to hold on October 31, 2021.
However, the High Court of Justice sitting in Osogbo has stopped Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba AbdulRosheed Adewale Akanbi, from installing the Ameer of Ta’awun Sheikh Dawood Imran Molaasan as the Grand Mufti of Yorubaland.
The court injunction is coming a few days after the leadership of the League of Imams and Alfas in South West visited the Osun State Governor on Wednesday 20th of October, 2021 to register their displeasure over the appointment of Grand Mufti of Yorubaland by Oluwo.

The group was led by the Chief Imam of Ekiti State, Alhaji Jamiu Kewulere, who is also the complainant that the post of grand mufti was meant for respected Islamic scholars that must be appointed by Imams and Alfas. Therefore, Oluwo as a royal king has no capacity to appoint or install anybody for such a position.
The order which was signed on October 26, 2021 states Oluwo is restrained to appoint Sheikh Dawood Imran or anybody pending the hearing and determination of the motion. The case has been adjourned till November 16, 2021.
With the court injunction, the plan to install the Grand Mufti of Yorubaland on October 31, 2021 has been stalled as the case is adjourned till November 6, 2021.
