The Osun West Senator, Adelere Oriolowo, has endorsed the candidacy of Dr. Raheem Amidu Tadese for the forthcoming Osun West Senatorial District election.
The All Progressive Congress (APC) of the Osun West Senatorial District flagged off its campaign for the February/March general election in Iwo today; February 9, 2023.
It could be recalled that the current Senator, Adelere Oriolowo, was denied the chance to go for a second term. He was denied the ticket for being part of The Osun Progressives (TOP), a factional APC group believed to be sponsored by the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.

Being a member of The Osun Progressives (TOP) is regarded as anti-party activity. Therefore, Senator Oriolowo couldn’t make the list. His name was replaced by Dr. Raheem Amidu Tadese in June 2022.
Despite the fact that he was denied the senate ticket for the second term, Senator Adelere Oriolowo endorsed Dr. Amidu Tadese at the flag-off Campaign in Iwo. Many people were astonished to see Oriolowo declaring his support openly for Amidu Tadese after distancing himself from the party for a while after the denial of the senate ticket.

It is rumoured that Senator Oriolowo followed the directive of Ogbeni Aregbesola after a reconciliation meeting among the leaderships of APC.
The Iwo elite politician, Hon. Amidu Tadese was the Honorable Commissioner for Water Resources under the administration of Gboyega Oyetola before he resigned from his duty, to obtain his nomination form to contest the post of Osun West Senator under APC in May 2022.
Osun west district campaign was flagged off under the senatorial leader Prince Omolaoye Akintola and chairman campaign committee Sen Adelere Adeyemi Oriolowo featuring all candidates of APC in Osun west.

All APC Candidates of the party were present including; Rt. Hon Adejare Bello, APC Senatorial Leaders, Akintola Omolaoye, Alh. Gbadebo Ajao.
Hon Amobi Yinusa Akintola (Ayedire / Iwo/Ola-Oluwa federal constituency.
Hon Oluga Taiwo ( Ayedire/Irewole/Isokan federal constituency)
Also, Hon Akeem Atanda Bello ( Ede North and south, Egbedore and Ejigbo federal constituency).
Other politicians from Iwo present were former House of Rep in Iwo, Hon. AbdulGafar Amere, former Iwo Local government chairman, Hon. Kamo Alao and others.
