Oluwo and His Stance on Unadulterated Monarchy | By Ibraheem Alli

Since enthronement 7 years ago, the Paramount Ruler of Iwoland, His Imperial Majesty Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, has been an unrepentant campaigner of a pure, unadulterated monarchy.

His position is “I’m not the real king. God is the real king. I’m just His earthly representation of the real. Pastors will protect the interest of Christianity they represent, Alfas will do for Islam, Baba Sango entrenches Sango, but as a monarch.

I have the primary duty of protecting the institution of God I represent. If I’m not the real king, only God is the real king. What should we call the palace of a king without an idol? It’s simply the House of God.”

As a student of history, I’ve known individuals to protect the respective institution and heritage they represent. They build their strength on the institution and do everything possible within their reach to protect the heritage.

As a journalist, I conduct myself to protect journalism institutions just as the way Baba Sango protects the shrine, bankers protect the treasury, so also the primary duty of the monarch safeguarding and promoting the oneness of God.

In my more than 30 years of existence, I’ve never seen a doctor promoting the usage of local herbs to treat hernia that should have best been removed through surgery. Or do I ever seen a teacher encouraging mediocrity instead of excellence? The paramount interest of every teacher is to unveil excellence in each student.

Monarchs are divinely chosen by God to represent Him on earth. God forbids idol worshipping. It’s the first commandment. The traditional institution existed to safeguard the interest of God. Also, all dictates and doctrines of God must be respected by the institution. Monarchs are ministers who should preach and deliver the words of God. Anything otherwise is also tantamount to insubordination and incompetency.

As always opines by the Oluwo of Iwoland who has premised his primary duty as to relaying the oneness of God devoid of any intermediary. He described monarchy as an institution of God that should be guarded and immunized against idolatry. The highest echelon one can achieve in life is to be called the same name as The Creator. The onus is on an individual to know his limit and never see himself as something before the real God.

Let the social media blabbing continue, if Prophets were to listen to the noises, they would have been forgotten today. Oluwo will continue to promote Godliness, the truth shall prevail and also his name written in Gold.
