Hon. Amobi Yinusa Akintola was born at Olode’s Compound in Kuta, Osun State. Hon. Amobi is a consummate businessman and entrepreneur with over 35 years of leadership and management experience.
He holds a National Certificate in Education (NCE) in Mathematics/Chemistry from Oyo State College of Education, Ilesha, a bachelor’s degree in Political Science Education from Federal University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomosho.

Hon. Amobi started his timber business in 1988 which comprises plank selling, timber contractor and saw miller. He is the group managing director of Sodamus Holdings which comprises of AMOBI Saw Mill Industry with branches at Apomu Isokan Local Government, Osun State, and Ikoro-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Sodamus Hotel, Iwo, Sodamus Petroleum, Iwo, Sodamus Haulage and Logistics Iwo, Co Motor dealer with Deen Confidence, Ibadan.
Hon. Amobi is an exceptional philanthropist who is selfless in many ways. Over the years, he has been involved in various community projects. He is a patron of several charity organizations. His involvement in community development projects and philanthropy led him unto the political path.

Hon. Amobi has held various political positions under the progressives over his 20 years in the political clime. He was the first democratic Executive Chairman of Ayedire Local Government in the 4th Republic (1999-2002), State Ex. Officio Alliance for Democracy (2005-2006), State Assistant Organising Secretary Action Congress (2007-2008), State Assistant Organising Secretary Action Congress of Nigeria (2009-2014), Member Governing Council Osun State College of Education, Ila, (2013-till date), State of Osun Vice Chairman of All Progressives Congress (2015-till date), and All Progressive Congress Senatorial Chairman, Osun West Senatorial District (2015-till date).
In the 2019 general elections, Hon. Yinusa Amobi contested for the House of Representatives seat of Ayedire/Iwo/Ola-Oluwa federal constituency, Osun State under the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and won with a landslide victory.
Hon. Amobi Yinusa Akintola is also the Apesin Ola of Iwo Land, Atobase of Ile-Ogbo Kingdom, Jagunmolu of Owu Kuta Kingdom, Ajiroba of Iwo Oke and Asiwaju of Owu Kuta Kingdom.
