Iwo Butchers Urge DAB Foundation to Resuscitate Abattoir Borehole

The Iwo Local Government Butchers and Herders have appealed to the Dr. Bayonle Ademola Foundation (DAB Foundation) to come to their aid to provide basic facilities and prioritized the need for a reliable source of water.

The butchers and herders made this known during a visitation of the DAB Foundation team in Iwo Local Government. It is well known that boreholes would ensure proper hygiene and the butchers’ handling of meats for public consumption.

The DAB Foundation also emphasizes the need to start the borehole project soon as the Iwo Abattoir is not only large but also a good platform to increase the state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).

The butchers use water to clean the meat they sell to the public. Without enough water, the people of Iwo might not get clean meat for their consumption. Also, if the Iwo butchers don’t wash the slaughtering implements and the drainages well, there may be an outbreak of the disease in the abattoir.

“We’ve concluded on starting with a borehole project to help their businesses. And we would consider other areas to assist them beat-down challenges limiting productivity,” they concluded.
