In the world of academia, there are individuals who shine brighter than the rest, leaving an indelible mark on their field of study. Professor Lukumon Adeoti, a renowned Geophysics expert and a true son of Iwoland, is one such luminary.
Professor Lukumon Adeoti of the Department of Geophysics, Faculty of Science delivered the 16th Inaugural Lecture of the 2023/2024 Academic Session on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at the J.F. Ade. Ajayi (Main) Auditorium, University of Lagos (UNILAG).

The Vice Chancellor, Professor Folasade Ogunsola, presided over the lecture, which is titled: “Geophysicist and Human Survival.”
Professor Adeoti’s academic journey is a testament to his dedication and passion for Geophysics.
The Iwo-born professor holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Physics (Geophysics) – University of Lagos in 1997 and PhD in Geophysics in 2007.

He is a fellow of the Institute of Oil and Gas Research and Hydrocarbon Studies. He is also a fellow of the Nigerian Association for Engineering Geology and Environment (NAEGE).
His Imperial Majesty, Oluwo of Iwoland, Ọba AbdulRosheed Adéwálé Akanbi Ilufẹmiloye as a royal father was also in attendance at the 16th Inaugural Lecture at the University of Lagos (UNILAG).
