Ansarul Huda Islamic Organisation on Sunday 28th of June 2026 hosted a Special National Conference in Iwo, Osun State, with the theme “Then, Now and Next of Islamic Renaissance in Nigeria,” bringing together prominent Islamic scholars, traditional rulers, government officials, politicians and Muslim faithful from across the country.
Speaking at the conference, the Oluwo of Iwoland, Ọba AbdulRosheed Adéwálé Akanbi, Telu I, urged Muslims to actively participate in politics, stressing that governance influences every aspect of society and that Muslims must be represented in decision-making.

Delivering the keynote lecture, Alhaji Ishaq Kunle Sanni, Chairman of the Muslim Community of Oyo State, identified corruption, disunity, insecurity and poor educational enlightenment as major challenges confronting Islamic renaissance. He called on Muslims to embrace knowledge, justice, unity and ethical leadership while remaining committed to the Qur’an and Sunnah.
The Guest Lecturer, Sheikh Muhammad bn Uthman, represented by his delegation, also emphasized Muslim unity as the foundation for sustainable peace and development, while Sheikh Daood Tijani Igiogun encouraged wealthy Muslims to support Islamic projects through their resources.
The conference also witnessed the attendance of the APC governorship candidate in Osun State, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), who reaffirmed his commitment to supporting Islamic causes.
As part of the event, winners of the 5th Annual Ansarul Huda Secondary School Quiz Competition were honoured with prizes, while several eminent personalities, traditional rulers, security agencies and Islamic leaders graced the occasion.
The conference ended with a strong call for unity, quality education, ethical leadership and increased Muslim participation in nation-building.
