The Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, has felicitated Muslims across the country on this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
Oluwo urged Muslims to use this special day to pray for the country as it is faced with many challenges. The monarch charged Nigerians to be patriotic in their actions as a better nation is possible if we are resolved to defend the interest of our country.

In a 2022 Eid-el-Kabir message by Oluwo through his press secretary, Alli Ibraheem, Oba Adewale reiterated his voice to a united Nigeria, saying Muslims have a fundamental role to play through demonstration and preaching of peace Islam represents.
Oluwo said: “I celebrate with Nigerians mostly the Muslims. Witnessing this year’s Eid IL Kabir is a rare grace and opportunity. We shall celebrate many more on earth.”
He continued: “I charge Nigerians to be patriotic in their actions and reactions towards our great country. Nigeria is a product of what we give to it. We should equally acknowledge God and act according to His dictates. Prophet Ibraheem did it and today, his action is celebrated throughout the world. He turned a desert to glory all people are jostling to visit.”

“Let’s spread love, embrace each other and coordinate for a common goal. A better nation is possible if we are resolved to defend the interest of our country. Shun violence in whatever form. Don’t also be used by political gladiators. You have your own future. Protect it.” Oba Adewale concluded.
Oluwo also enjoined the Muslim faithful to device Islam to uphold the unity of Nigeria by spreading love and embracing each other.
