CYFNBI Empowered 35 with Working Tools, 20 Handicaps Get Wheel Chairs

Sunday, the 7th of March, 2021 will remain evergreen in the heart of tens and hundreds of people from the Iwo Federal Constituency. This day witnessed a landmark, historic, ground breaking and monumental event which will forever be significant to many indigenes of Iwoland.

The Charitable Youth for Nation Building Initiative (CYFNBI) in collaboration with Guildance Community Development Foundation and NUDOLA, put together and organised one of the biggest empowerment programmes in Iwoland. The event, earlier scheduled for Saturday, 23rd of January, 2021 was postponed due to the second wave of COVID-19, for ‘man proposes and God disposes‘.

The event which took place at the Iwo City Hall, tagged “Empowerment of People with Disabilities” and “Recognition of Celebrating Achievers” saw over 35 people empowered with working tools such Sewing Machines, Shoe Making Machine and Tools, Pepper Grinding Machines etc;

Over 20 Handicaps getting Wheel Chairs; Distribution of Textbooks worth N500,000 for students; Distribution of Clothes, Food Materials and Financial Empowerment (Presentation of Cheque of N20,000.00 each) to two individuals as seed fund and lots more.

The event also witnessed the Maiden Edition of the CYFNBI Award 2021. Conferred upon the AWARDS OF RECOGNITION were Distinguished and Notable Personalities in the Society. The Awardees include;

In his words, the National President of the Charitable Youth For Nation Building Initiative and Guildance Community Development Foundation who doubles as the Chief Host, Mr Kabiru Adeniyi Adisa Kulukulu FCA established that the best craving of any man shoud be to be useful to his fellow human being. He stressed the need for humanitarianism and philanthropism as a way of assisting the Government at all levels in the fight against poverty as in the Sustainable Development Goals.

He enjoined all beneficiaries to effectively and efficiently put to use everything they benefited from the empowerment programme.

In presence, as the Royal Father of the Day, was His Imperial Majesty, The Arole Eledumare, The Alashe Lori Orisha, Oba (Dr.) Abdul-Rasheed Adewale Akanbi Telu 1, The Oluwo of Iwoland, Dr. Tijani Qosim and other notables sons and daughters of Iwoland.

It is believed that Empowerment of this nature if encouraged and supported will continue to better the lives of the average and less privileged. The Charitable Youth for Nation Building Initiative appreciates all well-meaning citizens who graced the occasion and strictly adhere to the guidelines and observed the COVID-19 protocols put in place.
