Bugdet 2021: FCE Iwo Will Get Proper Funding – Hon Amobi Reveals as Committee Meet

The honourable member representing Iwo Federal Constituency, Amobi Yinusa, has assured the people of Iwo, Ayedire and Ola-Oluwa Local government that the newly established Federal College of Education in Iwo will get proper funding. Hon. Amobi Yinusa disclosed this on Thursday after the budget defence of the Ministry of Education.

As a member of the House Committee on Appropriation and Member of the House Committee on Tertiary Education and Services at the Green Chamber, Hon. Amobi Yinusa, ensured that a reasonable amount will be appropriated to the Federal College of Education Iwo.

Iwo local government is one of the places where President Buhari approved the establishment of six (6) new Colleges of Education across the six geo-political zones in Nigeria. After the approval in May 2020. The Federal Ministry of Education ensured that adequate arrangements will be made for the commencement of academic activities by October 2020. Due to the global pandemic, academic activities have not started in the institution.

In a statement released on his Facebook account, the lawmaker says the funding is a necessity that ought to be included in the 2021 Appropriation Act.

Hon. Amobi Yinusa said: “As a member of the House Committee on Appropriation and Member of the House Committee on Tertiary Education and Services, I join other honourable colleagues at the Budget Defence of the Ministry of Education.”

The lawmaker continued: “I lend my voice in support of Federal College of Education, Iwo, as we deliberate the inclusion of its funding requirements by the Federal Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning in the 2021 budget estimates.”

“Recall that our distinguished President joyfully approved the establishment of 6 Federal Colleges of Education in the year 2020 in which my constituency is one of the beneficiaries.”

“The funding requirements are the needful assignment that must be captured in the 2021 Appropriation Act. I assure everyone that a reasonable amount of money will be appropriated for the newly established Federal College of Education, Iwo and others in the 2021 budget.” Hon. Amobi Yinusa concluded.
