The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chairman in Iwo local government, Alhaji Alidu Tiamiyu Adeoye led the newly sworn-in chairmen in Iwo local government, Hon. Moshood Abdulkabeer Adekunle of Iwo Central, Hon. Tiamiyu Kamaldeen Adeshina, Iwo East and Hon. Amoo Oyeniyi Olaewe, Iwo West to the palace of His Royal Majesty, the Oluwo of Iwoland, Ọba Abdul-Rasheed Adewale Akanbi.
The visitation to the palace of Oluwo on the 18th of August 2023 was done with the aim of the party chairman introducing the new caretaker chairmen, seeking royal blessings and fashioning out a way by which they can work hand in hand with the palace and the General people of Iwo so as to reach one political goal of development, unity and a government that reaches out to all.

Introducing the council chairmen, the party chairman, Alhaji Alidu promised Oluwo that under his leadership, the people of Iwo can be rest assured that the caretaker chairmen are going to perform beyond expectations. He continued by seeking royal blessings and solicited the support of the kind and the General people of Iwo through the palace.
Speaking on behalf of the three chairmen, the chairman of the mother council, Hon. Moshood Kabir Adekunle stated that he will do all in his capacity to continue and build on the good name Iwo local government has had in the state over time. He also promised to bring conspicuous developments in every way needed by Iwo people and further stressed that in his plans and programmes, Iwo people will always come first.

Hon. Kabir further said their administration will always accord, not only to the Oluwo stool but all Monarchs in Iwoland the utmost respect and allow traditional rulers to make inputs in governance to fast-track development and promote culture.
Oluwo expressed his delight in their hearts of service and premised them the sport of the palace in whatever way needed while serving the people of Iwo land. He advises that they should not now allow religious and political differences to soil their beautiful agenda for the people of Iwo and promised that he as the central figure of Iwo will garner the people’s support for them in a government that belongs to all of us.
Oluwo congratulated all the caretaker chairmen and the party chairman and blessed them with his prayers. The monarch further admonished the chairmen to work harmoniously with every other level of democratic governance in order to increase their capacity of service to the people of Iwoland.

Giving the closing remarks, the chairman of Iwo East, Hon. Adeshina appreciates the friendliness and openness of the monarch to the indigenes of the Iwoland and his continued efforts in attaining unity amongst the committee of communities in Iwoland.
He called for the support of all sons and daughters of Iwoland to come and identify with their fatherland in the interest of developing the land.
“All our sons and daughters, home and abroad should come to identify with us in the development of our land, this is the only Jerusalem we have. Let us see to the progress of our land, Osun state and the country at large, we should be mentors to our children,” Adesina concluded.
