The streets of Iwo on Friday, June 21 was filled as residents of the town came out in large numbers to welcome their monarch, Ọba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi, Ilufemiloye Telu I who just completed his hajj rites at the holy land of Saudi Arabia.
Ọba Akanbi was received by his subjects who occupied the famous Ibadan-Iwo-Osogbo expressway where the procession started before advancing to the town centre where the palace is situated.

Oba Adéwálé Akanbi expressed his gratitude to Almighty God before a crowd of well-wishers who listened to him at the palace.
Dignitaries at the homecoming included Sheikh Yakub AbdulBaaqi Muhammad, the Wazeer of Yorubaland, Sheikh Daood Imran Molaasan, the Grand Mufti of Yorubaland and Sheikh Abdulrouf Abdulbaqi Muhammad.
