Ile-Ogbo Born Footballer, Rofiat Imuran, Joins French Club Stade de Reims

The French women’s first division club, Stade de Reims, has announced the arrival of the Nigeria’s women under-20 team left back, Rofiat Imuran, on Thursday, October 13, 2022.

The Ile-Ogbo born female footballer, Rofiat Imuran, joined the French club on a two-year deal with an option to sign a 12-month contract extension.

In a statement released the club commented on the acquisition of Imuran:

“A few days before facing Paris FC, Stade de Reims is strengthening defensively with the arrival of Rofiat Imuran, a young Nigerian left side. Welcome Rofiat.”

Rofiat was one of the key players of the falconets side that lost to the Netherlands in the quarterfinals of the 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica earlier this year.
After her brilliance performance with the Falconets, Rofiat has been called up to the senior women’s national team known as the Super Falcons.

The 18-year-old Rofiat Imuran who signed until 2024 was given the jersey number 25.

Speaking on her transfer to the French club she said:

“Playing for your national team is a source of pride! I will now turn on to my performances with the Stade de Reims.

“Working, progressing and helping the team to aim even higher: these are my main objectives when I arrive here.” She concluded.
