Buhari Approves the Establishment of Federal College of Education in Iwo

President Muhammad Buhari has approved the Establishment of Federal College of Education in Iwo, Osun State.

In a statement released by the Federal Ministry of Education, Iwo Local Government has been approved as one of the locations for citing Federal College of Education as approved by President Muhammad Buhari. Buhari approved the establishment of six (6) new Colleges of Education across the six geo-political zones in Nigeria. Iwo got the one slated to be cited in Osun.

It has been a real struggle before the actualization of this college of education. Other local governments in Osun State wanted this same institution to be cited in their domain. However, the relentless efforts of the representatives of the local government did a great job.

Without a doubt, both lawmakers representing Iwo at the National Assembly, Hon Yinusa Amobi and Senator Oriolowo’s efforts were productive as lastly, they got the approval from the Federal Government. The people of Iwoland has been agitating for this institution and finally, the local government had it.

The Federal College of Education of Iwo to commence academic activities by October 2020.

It is a victory for all people of Iwo land.
