He is the head of the chief of training and operations at the Nigerian Army headquarters in Abuja. In December of 2017, Major General Adeosun achieved one of the great dreams that each military officer would ever have when he was appointed as commander of the infantry corps. He led the Infantry Corps for seven months before being redeployed in July 2018 to his current position as head of education and operations.

On July 9, 2019 President Muhammadu Buhari approved the promotion of the Nigerian Army Chief of Training and Operations, Major General Lamidi Adeosun, to the rank of a Lieutenant General. This is the same rank as the Chief of the Army Staff, Lt Gen Tukur Buratai.
