The Chief Lecturer of the Academy of Islamic Propagation (ACADIP), Alhaji Yusuf Olatunde Adepoju has revealed that the Fortress University which will be sited in Iwo has gotten first approval from Nigerian University Commission (NUC).
The Academy of Islamic Propagation (ACADIP) group has earlier revealed that the university is neither aimed to make profits nor to create wealth.
It could be recalled that in March 2021, the Chief Lecturer of the Academy of Islamic Propagation (ACADIP), Alhaji Yusuf Olatunde Adepoju, has unveiled major courses that will be studied at the Fortress University, Iwo.
Mallam Yusuf Adepoju said the Fortress University will not only be one of the Universities that will continue to solutions to numerous Human Challenges but also, it will be a World-Class University that will be second to none in the courses of study of the institution.

The statement was made on his on his Facebook platform yesterday September 15, 2021.
He said: “FIRST APPROVAL FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF FORTRESS UNIVERSITY HAS BEEN SECURED. Congratulations to the Muslim Ummah.”
The University project was initially planned to be cited in Ilobu, however, the Ilobu town failed to welcome it. In one of the interviews granted by the ACAPID Founder, Alhaji Yusuf Adepoju, he said: “Sadly, the University project is no more visible in our town any longer. We tried all our best possible, but, Ilobu rejected the offer.”
The proposed Fortress University was Ab initio planned to be sited in Iporin in Kwara State. However, this could not be done as a result of issues that came from the Memorandum of understanding. One of the issues was; the university land will not be for free and it will be a lease for 25 years which negates the guidelines of the Nigerian University Commission (NUC).

The ACADIP consulted the Iwo community for the Fortress University where they were welcomed with open arms. The deal was sealed on Sunday, December 13, 2020 that Iwo will be the home of the Fortress University.
On Wednesday, September 15, 2021 the convener of the Academic Propagation of Islam revealed that the Fortress University has gotten the first approval from the government.
