Federation of Iwoland Students’ Union (FILSU) at the National level free summer tutorial for secondary school students and post UTME candidates commences August 5. The leadership of the union made this known to the general public when unveiling the plans put in place for the programme.
FILSU summer lesson is a traditional programme which holds every year by any administration. However, this year’s FILSU summer lesson is coming with another dimension with the inclusion of Post UTME candidates in the programme.
Traditionally, the educational programme is chaired by Vice President of the union mainly focuses on Secondary School students across Iwo land. The As-Sulton’s administration introduces the Post UTME as a focus to improve the system is a welcomed idea. The programme is aimed to improve students from Iwo land academically. At the end of the tutorial, to evaluate the students, an examination is conducted and students with good performance are rewarded.
The Free Summer Lesson is free for all and sundry irrespective of background, religion, race, gender or status. The free tutorial is organized every year to prepare students for the challenges ahead especially the S.S.2 students who will be set for the West African Examination Council (WAEC) or NECO.
This year’s FILSU Summer Lesson is scheduled to as follow;
SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS
The Secondary School Students from Junior classes, Science classes, Commercial classes and Arts Classes are all invited to come for the free lessons.
Time for the classes: 9:00 am – 2:00 pm every day.
POST UTME CANDIDATES
The candidates who are preparing to write post UTME of various tertiary institutions are invited to come for the Free FILSU Lesson. This tutorial will get them fully prepared and ace the exam.
Time for the classes: 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm every Monday – Friday
9:00 am – 2:00 pm every Saturday
