It was a memorable day of joy, pride and celebration on Tuesday, 7th of July 2026, as Mariam Taleat (Suba), an Iwo-born daughter and the beloved daughter of Alhaji Kassim Suba, graduated from the University of Sunderland, United Kingdom.
Surrounded by family and loved ones, Mariam’s graduation was marked with a beautiful family outing to celebrate years of dedication, perseverance and academic excellence. Her remarkable achievement has not only brought honour to her family but has also added another success story to the growing list of outstanding sons and daughters of Iwoland making positive impacts across the globe.

Mariam was among thousands of students honoured during the University of Sunderland’s week-long Summer Graduation Ceremonies, holding from 6th to 10th July 2026. Tuesday’s ceremony celebrated graduates from the Faculty of Business and Technology, including MBA and Business Administration students.
Among those who joined the family to celebrate this achievement was Alhaji Sulaimon Bello (SEEBEE), the former Chairman of Iwo Local Government.
