The founder of Iwo City Polytechnic, Feesu, Iwo, Elder Amos Ọlátáyọ̀ ÌDÒWÚ, has passed away. The announcement was made by the management of the institution earlier yesterday, Friday, 6th December 2024.
Elder Amos, fondly called “Bàbá Idowu,” was a pioneer educationist, community leader, and political figure whose life was dedicated to the development of Iwoland. His transition marks the end of an era of exceptional dedication to education and societal advancement.

Starting in the early 1980s with Extra Mural Classes, Elder Amos transformed his vision into reality by establishing a Nursery and Primary School, A1 Grammar School, Ìwó, and finally, Ìwó City Polytechnic, a Federal Government-approved private institution. His work earned him recognition as one of the most prominent founders of polytechnics in Nigeria.
The late Elder Amos ÌDÒWÚ personally supervised Iwo City Polytechnic, guiding its growth to a successful institution that has impacted many lives. His passion and contributions to education and community development will not be forgotten.
